关于强烈太阳耀斑的报道，让摄影师踏上了长达七个小时的北上之旅，任务是在布满[极光](https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/aurora/)的天空下拍摄现代纪念碑。位于[冰岛](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceland)北部[勒伊法赫本](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raufarh%C3%B6fn)（ Raufarhöfn） 的标志性[北极巨石阵](https://www.northiceland.is/en/place/arctic-henge)（Arctic Henge）的尖顶已经与恒星的方位对齐：即一侧朝向正北方，另一侧朝向正南方。这张于上个月底日落后拍摄的特色照片，相机对着正南方，但由于合成图片覆盖了极为广阔的天空，[北极星](https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap210428.html)实际上出现在画面的最上方。此外，还可以看到熟悉的[星座](https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/constellations/)，包括左边的[大熊座](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursa_Major)（Ursa Major）和右下方的[猎户座](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_(constellation)#History_and_mythology)（Orion）。这项任务非常成功。夜空被明亮而[难忘](https://media.istockphoto.com/id/1361306507/photo/funny-cat-looking-shocked-with-mouth-open.jpg?s=612x612&w=0&k=20&c=nZC2BlXoiC2tycIsiv_PvmUSwKhctikzVLy4Y3pgp10=)的极光所照亮，闪烁着[惊艳的色彩](https://www.exploratorium.edu/learning_studio/auroras/difcolors.html)，绚丽的极光在红、粉、黄、绿之间不断变换颜色，有时甚至还同时出现好几种颜色的极光。
